St Petersburg Mahaffey Theater, marina and city skyline

St. Petersburg, located on the waterfront in Pinellas County, Florida, is growing rapidly and is famous for a thriving arts scene, wide range of cool restaurants and its historical significance. St Pete is also just a few minutes from some of the best beaches in the world! With a population of over 260,000 residents, St. Petersburg is the fifth-largest city in Florida and is often referred to as the “Sunshine City” because of its warm and sunny weather year-round.

The city was named after St. Petersburg, Russia, and was founded in 1888 by John C. Williams and Peter Demens, who were both immigrants from Russia. Throughout its history, St. Petersburg has undergone significant transformations, from a small agricultural community to a bustling city that attracts visitors from around the world.

St. Petersburg has a thriving arts scene. The city is home to the renowned Salvador Dali Museum, which houses the largest collection of Dali’s works outside of Europe. The Museum of Fine Arts and the Chihuly Collection are also popular destinations for art lovers.

St. Petersburg is also rich in history, with several historic sites that offer a glimpse into the city’s past. The St. Petersburg Museum of History, located on the waterfront, showcases the city’s history through exhibits and artifacts. The Sunken Gardens, a botanical garden that was once a drained lake, is also a must-see attraction for history and nature enthusiasts.

The St Pete Pier is a key draw in downtown, just next to the St Pete Marina. It was recently rebuilt and now is host to many attractions from fishing, walking and biking to sculptures to bistros and a market.

Finally, St. Petersburg is a city that celebrates diversity and inclusivity. It is home to a thriving LGBTQ+ community and hosts the annual St. Pete Pride parade, which is one of the largest Pride events in the state of Florida.

St. Petersburg, Florida, is a beautiful and vibrant city that offers something for everyone. Its beaches, arts scene, historical significance, and inclusive community make it a truly special place to visit or call home.

Just like any other major city there is a wide range of real estate in St Petersburg from luxury condos in downtown and luxury waterfront homes to historic homes in Historic Uptown to more modest neighborhoods such as Sheryl Manor. The most expensive home sold in the last 6 months was 1943 Brightwaters Blvd NE, which sold for $9,000,000.
